Historic Bed & Breakfast Questionnaire
Year erected: 1644
What is the history of the property?
First built in 1644, completely renovated in 1901. It's been our family house since then. We moved in and then decided to open it to guest after refurbishment in 2008.
What was the era and/or the architectural style in which the property was built?
The actual aspect of the house follows the 1900 project of the painter who owned it that time.

I would say liberty style although we had to sacrifice the liberty glass windows in order to have a more comfortable temperature inside, particularly in winter!
Is the property surrounded by other historic buildings?
Yes, the village in which we are dates back to 1200. Many of the surrounding buildings date back to 1800 and 1700. Some of them are typical examples of walser wooden houses, others belong to the late twenties. The village church is particularly noticeable: on the front façade one of the most remarkable frescoes of the Alps, dating back to late 1500. The façade is framed on its lateral sides by two bell towers, respectively built in late 1400 and late 1600.
Has restoration work taken place?
We completely restored our house from 2005 to 2008, when we opened the property to guests.
Are there any elements of particular historical importance at the building?
The breakfast room dates back to 1870 and is particularly remarkable, being decorated with panels of faux marble, a technique, for which the numerous artists of the valley were well known abroad.
Are there any important guests or previous owners worth mentioning?
The previous owner of the house was the watercolour painter Michele Jachetti.
Are there any significant events that took place at the property in the past?
No
Has the property received any certifications for its historical status?
