De Statie has earned widespread praise for several aspects, making it a popular choice for guests seeking a blend of historical charm and modern conveniences. The hotel's location is particularly lauded, being both picturesque and strategically convenient for hikers on the GR5 route, as well as visitors to Antwerp. The beautiful renovation of the stately building, along with its charming terrace and ample parking space, further enhance its appeal.
Guests consistently appreciate the dining experiences at De Statie. Breakfast is noted for its delicious taste and variety, offering a satisfying start to the day. Though some visitors desired a wider selection, the quality and neat presentation received positive remarks. Dinner at the on-site restaurant is highly recommended with guests praising the excellent food, vegetarian options and the cozy ambiance.
Accommodations at De Statie are valued for their cleanliness, spaciousness and modern, well-maintained bathrooms. Family-friendly apartments with kitchens and living areas cater well to longer stays. While some rooms were noted to be small or lacking in certain amenities like air conditioning and blackout curtains, the overall feedback on room quality is positive.
The hotel maintains a strong reputation for cleanliness with guests frequently commending the neat and tidy environment. Isolated incidents of minor cleaning issues do not detract from the overall clean and well-kept appearance of the establishment.
Staff at De Statie are a significant highlight with consistent compliments on their friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness. Despite a few isolated lapses, the general consensus points to a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere created by the team.
Parking is another strength with free, secure and ample parking options accommodating various vehicles, including bikes, providing convenience for all guests.
Regarding the beds, there are mixed reviews. While many guests found the beds comfortable and of good quality, some reported issues with mattress conditions and cleanliness. Overall, guests generally had a satisfactory sleeping experience, though improvements in consistency would be beneficial.
